On The Cover

 

Ten year old piano student, Alex Fortier, is a student of George F. Litterst, whose studio is in Massachusetts. As shown in the cover photo, he usually has his lesson on a Disklavier piano that is connected to a personal computer which displays the music, turns the pages automatically, and intelligently coordinates musical accompaniments. On this occasion, he is receiving real-time videoconferenced instruction from Shana Kirk, a teacher who lives 2,000 miles away in Colorado.
